As PTLP's Communications Intern, Sydney will manage the Project's internal and external communications, including our monthly newsletter.
Reflecting on her involvement with PTLP, Sydney says, "The Pink Triangle Legacies Project embodies change through education and advocacy. The way history is taught often lacks inclusivity and does not adequately address critical questions about whose histories are omitted and why these choices are made. This nonprofit addresses this issue by advocating for a more inclusive approach to history, emphasizing underrepresented stories, and fostering critical discussions about these omissions and their reasons.
"I believe that storytelling is one of the most effective tools for advocacy, as it fosters genuine connections and conveys powerful lessons through shared experiences of triumph and sorrow. My motivation to join this project comes from wanting to make a meaningful impact and to avoid regretting missed opportunities. It allows me to grow personally and professionally while contributing to something greater than myself."
